Abstract

Education plays a very important role in the reconstruction of society. It is the best source for developing a man’s resourcefulness which makes it ‘full’ and ‘well balanced’. Even though there has been a substantial growth in our educational system, our employment generation system is not able to absorb this army of graduates. Also adequate emphasis has not been laid on generating the entrepreneurial skills in the youth through the process of interdisciplinary learning. There appears to be a concerted effort to provide a pattern of education that is uniform ,that is top-down approach and that is consumer driven .So a multi prolonged strategy is needed to make education more attractive and to simultaneously create employment potential.
