Abstract

Synthetic dyes obtained from petroleum are found in foods, cosmetics and drugs. They are divided into four chemical classes such Azo- dyes, Triarylmethane dyes, Xanthine dye and Indigoid dye. In current review we considered their metabolic fate and studied their toxicity inflicted upon human health.
