ASSESSING THE EFFECT OF DIFFERENT ESTIMATION ERROR ON DUAL-MRC RECEIVER OVER HOYT FADING CHANNELS

Abstract

The system performance of a dual maximal ratio combining (Dual-MRC) receiver over Hoyt fading channel with different estimation error has been presented in this study. Here we derived the Average Bit Error Rate (ABER) expressions to assess and study the performance degradation of a Dual MRC receiver for different estimation error over Hoyt fading channel. From the analysis, it can be concluded that the envelope estimation error degrades the performance of the receiver up to a great extent than the phase estimation error. In this study the results are also compared considering both antenna correlation and arbitrary estimation error in different branch. From this study the author feels that the provided results will helpful for the design engineers to design more efficient wireless receiver.
