Abstract

Morphometric analysis is helpful in understanding process driven changes such as basin drainage assessment, runoff, infiltration, terrain, precipitation and discharge etc. of the river basin. Land Use and Land Cover (LULC) assessment helps in understanding the present and past land characteristics of the region and also helps in planning for future plans. In the present paper, the morphometric analysis and Land Use & Land Cover classification of the Ghaghara River has been carried out to delineate various surface processes that occur in the basin. The basin delineation has been done using Aster Global Digital Elevation Model (GDEM) Version 3 data using Arc GIS 10.3. The study shows stream varying from one to six orders.
