The issue of the covid-19 pandemic has forced institution of higher learning to consider e-learning, traditional classroom learning or blended learning, the combination of e-learning and traditional classroom learning. The decision to choose among the three option depends primary on the government policy on education. From the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic up to date government policy has moved from the most restricted lock down, which only promoted e-learning to easing of lockdown or removal of lockdown which promotes traditional classroom or blended learning or both. So, the government policy has been changing gradually, but the individual universities response to the pandemic has primarily dependent on the resources they can gather to invest in the information technology infrastructure to make them compliant with the government policy and directives throughout the spectrum of the COVID-19 pandemic period of time. In this research paper critical issues about e-learning are discussed.
