Abstract
Everyone is interested in predicting the trends of future. Pre means “before” and “diction” has to do with talking. So a prediction is a statement about the future. It‟s a guess, sometimes based on facts or evidence. Predictive Data Mining (PDM) forms an integral part of the decision support systems and plays an important role in decision making. Intelligent decision support systems (IDSS) serve the management, operations, planning levels of an organization (usually mid and higher management) and help people make decisions about problems that may be rapidly changing and not easily specified in advance. Predictive techniques and algorithms are one of the major components during creation of IDSS.
