Abstract

Citizenship Education is highly topical in many countries, at present, as the new century approaches and urgent consideration is given to how better to prepare young people for the challenges and uncertainties of life in a rapidly changing world (Ichilov, 1998). In a world of rapid change and increasing diversity, the need for an active, informed and responsible citizenry is greater than it has ever been.
